NASRDA, UNICCON Partner to Advance Nigeria's Space Tech and Innovation

The National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) along with the UNICCON Group of Companies have entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance Nigeria’s space technology and innovation sector. The MoU signing took place at the UNICCON Group’s headquarters in Abuja.

The engagement centered on joint prospects in research and development, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) systems, technological innovations, and tailored training initiatives.

Both organizations conveyed a solid dedication to utilizing their shared expertise to advance Nigeria’s standing in the global space sector.

The director general of NASRDA, Mathew Adepoju, emphasized the agency’s commitment to promoting collaborations with the private sector that stimulate innovation and national progress.

”Our vision is to establish a thriving, sustainable space ecosystem in Nigeria, driven by active private-sector participation.

“Partnerships like this are crucial for accelerating innovation and ensuring that space technology contributes tangibly to our national economy and the lives of ordinary Nigerians,” he said.

The chairman of UNICCON Group, Chuks Ekwueme, conveyed hope regarding the partnership, emphasizing the firm’s willingness to lend its technological knowledge.

Both organizations voiced hopefulness regarding the partnership’s capacity to produce transformative results, highlighting Nigeria’s dedication to emerging as a significant participant in space technology and innovation.
